Datadrift began her sound voyage creating electronic soundscapes with various hardware synths. Later, she began experimenting with adding vocals, which developed organically from her tendency to write poems.
Sonically, her approach is texture-driven and open to improvisation. But she also has a composed side.
She performs frequently in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area — from live improvisational electronic sets for ambient and techno scenes to indie pop atmospheres for dive bars and coffee shops. She seems to always be ready to throw her synths in the car for a quick gig.
A few years back, she launched the Synth Cafe mini-series, which showcased a dozen local live electronic music artists / friends. She hopes to relaunch that project again when the time is right.
For now, she’s busy searching for a way to give her art more space to breathe and develop — as any hopeless romantic does, even if futile. She’s willing to bargain — even a part-time job instead of a full-time one would make a difference. 😉
But we digress. Explore the content here. We’ll try to build it out a little more, week by week, as time permits. She has digital music available on Bandcamp, SoundCloud, and YouTube. Three CDs are for sale at Bandcamp or by contacting her directly.
Wish you a beautiful day or night wherever you are Upon This Earth.
